Description:

SailabilityThe Sailability name or band describes the introductory and recreational sailing programs designed for people with a disability and conducted at sailing clubs.Sailability Victoria is a Yachting Victoria Committee focused on supporting the network of existing volunteer run Sailability programs, growing participation and increasing the opportunities for sailors of all abilities to develop within the sport.

Sailing for EveryoneSailability Victoria also promotes the concept of "Sailing for Everyone", advocating for Victorian clubs to be more inclusive and grow the number of opportunities for people of all ages, abilities an backgrounds to participate.Inclusion is not just about opportunities for people with a disability.  It extends to people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, indigenous Australians, those who are financially and socially disadvantaged and other groups within our community not traditionally attracted to sailing. The equipment and approach used by Sailability - using safe, stable, easy to sail boats that build confidence, and providing a welcoming, non-threatening and encouraging recreational environment - can easily be adapted to Discover Sailing programs and club environments.
