Deanne Hall is a mother of three girls all under the age of seven. Dee’s youngest daughter Amelia is 3 years old and has Down syndrome. Amellia started at Peninsula Gymnastics Club in March 2015 and enjoyed gymnastics from day one. She has continued to grow and develop every week. It was was also an added bonus that her sisters could go along and participate too.
Regular Gymnastics training has benefited Amellia in many ways, it has helped with Amelia’s fine motor skills and upper body strength and Dee believes that regular training has reduced the amount of OT and Physio Appointments. The staff and coaches at Peninsula Gymnastics Club have been fantastic in working with all parents and kids in developing an inclusive program that people of all abilities can participate in. Once Amellia starts school, Peninsula Gymnastics have stated that she will be able to attend regular classes that will incorporate routines from Special Olympics competitions.
