If you are deaf or hard of hearing then it doesn't stop you from playing the greatest game in the world, cricket!

The Melbourne Deaf Cricket Club (MDCC) was established in 1880-81 and has been providing an opportunity for deaf cricketers to play ever since.

The club currently has three teams, all playing in the Eastern Cricket Association.

In 2011-12, the first XI, playing in the McCarthy Shield, won four of their 11 matches en route to a semi-final finish.

The second XI played in the one-day Minahan Shield and secured five victories for the season.

The club also entered a side in the state-wide T20 competition.

Trainings are held at Hays Paddock, East Kew on Thursdays from 5pm.

Hays Paddock is located via Longstaff Street, Kew East. (Melways reference 45 J1)

The club also promotes a social atmosphere, holding BBQs every Thursday and Saturday evening.

MDCC welcomes any new members as players or volunteers.
