The Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron offers Sailability for people with a disability to enjoy the freedom and fun of sailing.
The Program has a small fleet of Hansa 303 yachts. These will not capsize and can be sailed solo or with a co-sailor. They are suited to people of all ages and all abilities. No special clothing is needed and lifejackets are provided.
SAILING IN THE 303 IS SAFE AND EASY
The 303 cannot capsize so it is very safe. The yacht comes and goes from the marina dock. Instruction is easy as an experienced sailor can sit beside a learner to demonstrate sailing skills and explain what is happening at the time.
Very young children can sail in company with older sailors, people with a disability can be fully included.
Sailing conducted during the sailing season October to April on Tuesdays 10 am to 2pm and Saturdays 2pm to 4 pm, and Holidays at 2pm on scheduled days.
Cost a gold coin donation per session.
Participants are asked to register with an email address so that relevant communication can be maintained.
