Disability Sport and Recreation (DSR) provides and promotes positive health outcomes for Victorians with disability through participation in sport and recreation. DSR exist to ensure Victorians with disability have equal opportunities to take part in the sport and recreation activities they’d like to participate in.

DSR work in partnership and consult with Victorians with disability, carers, volunteers, sport and recreation sector representatives, disability service organisations, schools, researchers, health professionals, government, philanthropic organisations and community groups to fulfill their mission.

Supported by Protect, DSR provides opportunities for people to participate in wheelchair rugby in either an introduction and development program or to compete in the league.

Also known as murderball, wheelchair rugby is the toughest sport on wheels. Whether you're just getting started or your a seasoned veteran of wheelchair sports, wheelchair rugby gives you the opportunity to get active, get rough and get physical.

Wheelchair Rugby is an intense, high impact, fast paced game as players attempt to get the ball across the opposition’s goal line.

DSR runs both training sessions and the Protect Victorian Wheelchair Rugby League, so you can either learn and develop your skills, or jump straight in to competition.

The Protect Victorian Wheelchair Rugby League (VWRL) is Victoria’s premier wheelchair rugby competition. The league consists of high level, competitive players who push their bodies to the extreme to deliver the ball over their opponent’s score line. The season will be played out in a triple round-robin, whereby each team will be one another three times before finals. After the completion of the 9 rounds the two teams who finish highest on the ladder will play off for the championship, with third and fourth battling it out for bronze.
