Disc Golf is a relatively new, yet increasingly popular inter-generational recreational pursuit which appeals to people of all ages and abilities. It combines the skills of Frisbee and the gameplay of Golf, where a disc is thrown from a “tee” towards a target known as the “hole”, which in this case is an elevated metal basket.
The 12 ‘hole’ course at Lewis Park has been implemented for an initial trial period of between six and 12 months, with a permanent site within Knox to be determined later this year. Funding for the project was provided by Council via the Minor Capital Works Grants Scheme and VicHealth via a successful Reimagining Health grant submission. Visit the site by entering via Coleman Road and click here to learn more about this new sport.
