Laura:

Welcome to AAA Play. My name is Laura and I'm the AAA Play manager.

At AAA Play, we help connect people with disabilities to sport and recreation opportunities in their area.
You found this video because you're looking for a Leisure Centre that meets your needs.
Let me show you how aaavic.org.au can help.

First we need to navigate to the AAA Play homepage, which is aaavic.org.au and we have the option to navigate to Find an Activity by clicking the menu bar.
We can go straight to Find a Sport or Recreation Activity if you're looking for a coordinated program to join a club or similar such as basketball, netball, AFL, table tennis.
Alternatively if you're going to coordinate your own recreation programs such as swimming or going to the gym, then you might like to Find a Leisure Centre, which is what we're doing today.
So we're going to click on this great big icon, which also gets us to this same homepage where once again you can go straight through to Find a Sport or Recreation Activity or you can also choose to Find a Leisure Centre. All of the AAA Play
web pages have Readspeaker installed and so if you need support to hear the page narrated to you, then you can click on that at any time.

Once you get through to the Find a Leisure Centre page, you'll see there's a big colorful map that's broken into all of the regions across Victoria and you can click directly on any one of those regions and  it will take you straight through and display all of the leisure facilities in that area. So this is Loddon Campaspe, you can see the Google Maps here that shows that there is a Heathcote Swimming Pool in Heathcote there. Then there's a few more up here in and around Bendigo.

If you prefer, you can also search by postcode so I'm going to pop in the postcode for Belmont, which is near Geelong and hit apply and that zooms through straight to the Google Maps like we saw before and this time you can see it's quite zoomed out.
We've got all of the facilities in and around a fairly broad region. So I want to narrow that down, I'm going to pop in a 20 kilometre distance and that zooms me in to be able to see just the facilities that are much closer to Belmont.
You can click on any one of these and quickly see the phone number if you'd like to contact them. You can also select that heading to go through and see more information. Or you can scroll down and see the full list of records that have been found.

If at any time you don't get very many program options or alternatively you just need some extra support,
you can always contact AAA Play. Our phone number is 1800 222 842 or you can email us on request@aaavic.org.au

When you click to go through to the facility, it'll give you a little bit of a description and let you know what that particular Leisure Centre offers and then it gives you details in relation to the accessible facilities at that Leisure Centre as well. So this particular facility has 10 accessible car spaces, they accept Companion cards, Care card discounts. They have both accessible Change Rooms and Changing Places and they also have a Hydrotherapy Pool.

When you scroll down you can see the Google Maps just like your normal Google Maps where that location is. Not all of the facilities are available at every Leisure Centre. So the Leisuretime Sports Precinct is in fact a sports stadium
and therefore they don't have any of the aquatic facilities and you can see that there, but there's no Hydrotherapy Pool or Changing Places and they also don't accept Carer card discounts.

Thanks so much for watching. Remember you can always reach out and connect with us for more support. You can call us on 1800 222 842. Alternatively email to request@aaavic.org.au
