Playing a vital role in the daily operations of the Museum, volunteers are valued members of the Heide team. In supporting the Museum, volunteers have the opportunity to become part of the Heide community and form a deeper connection with inspiring art, architecture and landscape.

They are currently recruiting volunteers for Visitor Services, Garden and Education Programs.

Application Process

Please complete an application form addressing the Key Selection Criteria as outlined in the Position Description and upload a copy of your current resume for your chosen role here:

Applications are due by Monday 19 August 2019. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a group interview in late August.

Successful applicants will undertake two days compulsory training on Tuesday 17 September and Saturday 21 September and will commence volunteering upon completion of the training.


Visitor Services
Volunteers participate in the daily activities of the museum; providing courteous and comprehensive information to visitors whilst invigilating in the galleries.

Volunteers support the delivery of education programs and events which provide a bridge between Heide and school audiences. Time spent volunteering with schools at Heide can be accredited towards the renewal of VIT registration.

Volunteers assist in the routine maintenance and presentation of key areas of our grounds, including the Heide I gardens, Heide II kitchen garden, the Rose Walk and the sculpture park.
