The Having a Say Conference aims to empower people with disability through:
• The opportunity to ‘have a say’ about issues that affect their lives

Brief program description: ( all ages, age specific): The 2017 National Cricket Inclusion Championships will consist of three divisions: blind and vision impaired, deaf and hard of hearing, and cricketers with an intellectual disability. It will be the first time in Australia that these three divisions will be played as part of one competition.

Access for All Abilities (AAA Play) team at Reclink Australia are holding a forum aligned with International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) at The Wheeler Centre on Thursday 1st December 2016, to acknowledge and identify ‘the future we want for inclusive sport in Australia.’

The format of the event will include a panel of guest speakers to discuss ideas related to the topic.

We have exciting guest speakers including, Steven Payne (Strapper for 2015 Melbourne Cup Winner), Matt Lewis (Gold Medal winner in the 2016 Paralympic Games), Kerry Tarvou (Inclusion Manager – Gymnastics Victoria), Deanne Hall (Participant Parent, Gymnastics Victoria) and Hannah Macdougall will be the host (Dual Paralympian and AAA Play Ambassador).

Find out what local services are available to you at a free Disability expo.

The City of Whittlesea is hosting a free expo on Wednesday 30 November to mark the International Day of People with a Disability.  The expo will include up to 50 service providers who will be available to provide information to north eastern region of Melbourne including Whittlesea, Banyule, Nillumbik, Darebin and the Yarra Council areas.

Local Area Coordinator for the NDIS, the Brotherhood of St Laurence, will be running workshops on topics including NDIS 101 and Pre-planning and the role of the Local Area Coordinator. There will be other guest speakers running workshops on the day as well.
