Blind Sports Victoria was established in 1977 as a State Sporting Association dedicated to increasing and providing opportunities for blind or vision impaired people to become active in sport and recreation throughout Victoria. We work with those in relevant sectors and active recreation opportunities for blind and vision impaired people. Where there are gaps in the provision of opportunities, we help by delivering programs to meet the needs of blind and vision impaired people Some of the ways we support our members are by:
Providing sporting and recreation programs delivered by our staff and experienced volunteers
Linking members with State Sporting Associations who are committed to providing opportunities for blind and vision impaired people.
We also play a vital role in the community by educating organisations, coaches, officials, clubs, allied health professionals and the general public about inclusion of people who are vision impaired in sport and active recreation.
