The Association All Abilities Tournament is a great opportunity for all abilities programs and competitions to put their teams together and showcase their players talents.

Come along and celebrate the end of the first Health and Wellbeing program for 2017! There will be a presentation of the program so far and plans for the program at the end of the year.

Come relax and share a walk with other carers!

The Pathway for Carers project offers carers of people with a disability or a mental health issue, an opportunity to share walks with other carers and to learn more about news, services, supports available to carers. This is a FREE event for carers.

We offer five walks:

  • Maroondah Walk (Tuesday)
    Meet at: Torrente Cafe, 389 Maroondah Hwy Ringwood
    When: Every second Tuesday of the month commencing 9.30am

  • Maroondah Walk (Saturday)
    Meet at: Torrente Cafe, 389 Maroondah Hwy Ringwood
    When: Every third Saturday of the month commencing 1.00pm

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Do I need to RSVP for the Pathways to Carers? No, you can just arrive on the day.

Do I need to attend all the walks, or can I just show up to walks that are suitable for me? You are not committed to attend all the walks, come when you can. You are welcome to attend just one walk, two walks, or all five walks.

Is there a cost to come on the walk? No, the walk is free for carers.

What do I need to bring? A water bottle, sunscreen and comfortable shoes.

How far can I expect to walk? No more than 5km, the walks will take approximately 1 hour.

What happens if I can’t finish the walk? Carers are encouraged to participate to any distance they feel comfortable.

Do I need to live in either the Shire of Yarra Ranges, Manningham or Maroondah council to participate? No, all carers are welcome to participate

Am I able to bring the person I care for on the walk with me? No, the walk is designed to give carers a break from their caring role.

What happens if I need someone to look after the person I care for? You can contact the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre for respite assistance on 1800 052 222. UnitingCare lifeAssist can also help you with respite.

Can I bring a partner or friend on the walk? The walk is specifically for Carers, but if you know someone in a caring role who will benefit from the program then you are welcome to invite them. Partners who share the caring role are welcome to join.

Can I bring my child in a stroller? Yes, but due to safety reasons they must remain in a stroller for the duration of the walk.

Can I bring my dog on the walk? No, for safety reasons we request that you do not bring your pets.

What happens in extreme weather conditions? If it is very hot, or very wet it is likely that the walk will be cancelled. Check the facebook page on the day of the walk.

The Good Friday Appeal encourages Victorians of all ages to come along to the 2017 Kids Day Out. This annual event is a great way to bring the whole family together for a day of amusement, activities and entertainment, all while raising much needed funds for The Royal Children’s Hospital.

Come April 14th, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will be transformed into a fun filled family festival! Entry is free and all events and activities are participation by donation.

“The Kids Day Out, is a great way to get involved in the Good Friday Appeal!” says Good Friday Appeal Director, Anne Randall. “With all the activities, sights, sounds and tastes, it has something for everyone!”

With more than 80,000 people expected to attend the event this year, we encourage Victorians to come and participate, donate and enjoy the 2017 Kids Day Out!



For 40 years Special Olympics have brought people with intellectual disability together with passionate volunteers to participate in weekly sports training, regular competition, fun and friendship. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training in multiple sports as well as competition at local, state, national and international level. Please see the calendar of events for ongoing training opportunities around Victoria.

The pinnacle of our competition in Victoria is coming up with the Special Olympics Victoria State Games held over the weekend of Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd. Most sports will be held at the Veneto Club (191 Bulleen Rd, Bulleen), with swimming at the adjacent Carey Grammar Sports Complex and athletics held at the Box Hill Athletics Track all day Saturday April 1st. All are most welcome to come down and support athletes that are having a go, competing for medals and the chance to represent Victoria at the National Games in Adelaide in April 2018.

This special event is a great opportunity to see Junior Balloon Football in action, and support players from across the state.

During 2016, students from special developmental schools across Victoria participated in Balloon Football training clinics facilitated by senior Balloon Football Leaugue® players and Scope’s Community Inclusion team.

The Junior BFL program provides pathways to participation in sport and active recreation for children with complex and multiple disabilities.

Students from these schools have formed representative teams and will be competing in an inter-school competition for the Junior BFL Cup.
